2.1 Teaching Methods of the teacher that I observed

Teaching Methods of the teacher that I observed

The term "teaching method" encompasses the overarching principles, pedagogical approaches, and management techniques employed in classroom instruction.

The selection of a teaching method is influenced by factors such as the educational philosophy, the demographics of the classroom, the subject matter, and the mission statement of the school.

Alicia National High School adopts a student-centered learning approach. In this model, while teachers maintain their roles as authority figures, both teachers and students engage actively in the learning process.

The primary responsibility of the teacher is to guide and facilitate student learning, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the material. Additionally, the teacher assesses student learning through various means, including formal and informal assessments such as group projects, student portfolios, and class participation. In the student-centered environment at Alicia National High School, teaching and assessment are interlinked, as student learning is continuously evaluated throughout the instructional process.
