6.1 Purpose of practicum

Purpose of practicum

    During my month-long experience in the Philippines, which included 16 days at PNU NL and ANHS, followed by 12 days at PNU MANILA and PNU ITL, I gained a wealth of knowledge. One of the primary objectives of this practicum is to understand the diverse aspects of culture, traditions, religions, cuisine, and the people. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to teach in both the province and the capital of the Philippines. The overarching goals of this practicum are as follows:

1. To develop educators who possess global perspectives and are prepared to navigate the competitive landscape of the ASEAN economic community.

2. To familiarize oneself with the school environment, including its administration and overall academic framework.

3. To foster independence and self-confidence.

4. To acquire fundamental teaching skills applicable in other countries.

5. To learn various teaching techniques utilized in different educational contexts.

6. To enhance practical experience throughout the program.

7. To recognize the essential elements within the school environment.
